Announcements

Monthly Social at Waterloo Icehouse (2/1)

Join us this Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. for our monthly gathering at Waterloo on the corner of Avery Ranch Blvd and Parmer, as an opportunity to simply break bread together and for conversation. Friends, as always, are warmly invited.

Christian Ed for Sunday (2/5)

Our Theologian in Residence, Dr. Scott Bader-Saye, will continue his series titled "Blessed are the Peacemakers" this Sunday, as will our classes for youth and children continue. Nursery care is available as usual during worship and Christian Ed.

Wednesday Night Bible Study (2/8)

Due to unexpected conflicts for our priest, Miles, related to our purchase of new space, we are now beginning our bible study this spring on Wednesday, Feb 8. This semester we are gathering at the home of Jim and Nancy Nance, 13239 Briar Hollow Drive, 78729. If you need directions or get turned around, call Nancy at 512.748.6711. This is open to anyone interested in scripture study and no need to attend every week to participate. We will be taking a look at Jesus' "I am" statements in John's Gospel this spring. Email Miles with questions.

First Community Dinner of the Spring (2/12)

Our first Community Dinner of the Spring semester will directly follow worship Sunday, Feb 12.  As usual, we will provide a main course, but invite anyone interested to bring a side or desert to share. If you would like to bring something, please email Matt Abrahamson. Also, as in the past, we will be building Manna Bags to share with our homeless neighbors to further our tradition of remembering those without enough food, as we feast with one another.

Fat “Teaday” for the Women of the Church (2/18)

In preparation for Lent and to further build community among the women of St. Julian's, we are hosting a tea (with a light supper) for all the women in our community. Friends are warmly invited. The tea will be at the home of Patty Ely, 2800 Zambia Dr, 78613. For a map, click here. If you have any questions or would like to help, please email Patty Ely by clicking here.

A “Loving all Well” Outreach Opportunity

St. Julian's is partnering with area churches and AISD to provide food for underserved children to take home at the end of the school week to be certain they have healthy food to nourish them over the weekend. To this end, for the next several weeks we are collecting 18 oz jars of Peanut Butter and Jelly at church each Sunday that will be shared with children at Anderson Mill Elementary School. Please plan to bring one or both each Sunday and place them in the baket at the altar. If you have questions, please email the leader of our Outreach Ministry, Roger Hungerford.

St. Julian’s Annual Men’s Retreat (Mar 3-5)

All men and any interested friends are invited to join us for this time of fellowship and spiritual growth at Wessendorf Ranch in Blanco, Texas. This year's theme is "Stewards of the Mysteries of God" and will be led by the retired Senior Minister of First United Methodist Church, the Rev. John McMullen. Please place the dates on your calendar, and direct questions to Mason Terry.

While the Men are Retreating the Women will be Eating, Saturday Evening (3/3)

During the annual men's retreat, all the women at St. Julian's (little ones welcome) will be gathering for dinner at Marty Terry's home. More info to follow, but if you have questions are want to help, email Marty.

Interested in serving on a Set-up Team?

We are always looking for people to add to our current set-up teams who help create and take down our worship space each week. If you have any interest, please email Marty.

Become a Follower of St. Julian’s Blog

From our beginning, we have had a blog as a space on the internet for encouraging dialogue, sharing thoughts and having access to our Vicar’s sermons. The blog (www.stjuliansaustin.blogspot.com) has been recently updated, and now our Theologian in Residence, Dr. Scott Bader-Saye, will be offering food for thought from time to time. We hope this can be a resource for spiritual growth, as a forum for graceful dialogue and sharing thoughts/feelings with those both within and outside our community.  Please check it out, and if you have any questions or are interested in contributing yourself, please be in touch with Miles.
